About Me

Before I was the guy handing people the keys to a new life, I was the one locked out — watching everything fall apart.

I grew up in New Orleans, a city bursting with soul, warmth, and culture. But when I was four years old, tragedy struck. My sister Michelle - just six - got out of the tub on a chilly November night. She stood by our apartment’s gas wall heater to warm up and her nightgown caught fire.

We lost her several days later.

That fire didn’t just take Michelle. It took our sense of safety, of home. It shattered the illusion that home could always protect us. My two older sisters saw it happen. One was babysitting. The other was right beside her. My younger brother was only two — he never got over it.

And our home was filled with grief, silence, and survival for years.

I learned that something as simple as a bad heater can burn down a family's future. Later in life, I found success as a real estate investor but I was never quite comfortable or satisfied. I made a risky move and when the smoke settled I had lost over $1.5 million. I put my wife through hell. It felt like I lost nearly everything.

And again - I thought my story was over.

I felt like this financial fire was about to do to my adulthood what that first fire did to my childhood. But then it hit me: I had been living in a permanent state of fear - a kind of normalized panic, constantly waiting for the next fire, hoping to outrun it. What I needed wasn’t another escape plan. I needed to build something stronger.

I needed to make it fireproof. So I did.

I rebuilt through residential sales and investments. And I found purpose, not just in deals, but in fixing what could break. Every house I bought or sold had its own version of a bad heater, a hidden risk, a weak spot. And I made it my job to find it and fix it. To make it fireproof, in every possible way.

So when I handed over the keys, I wasn’t just giving someone a home, I was giving them a fireproof fortress. I was giving the safety, immunity and a future that wouldn’t go up in smoke.

Then I expanded the mission: I started fireproofing everything.

Deals with shady loan terms? Fireproof it.

Houses in risky flood zones? Fireproof it.

Neighborhoods about to turn? Fireproof it.

Contractors with bad track records? Fireproof it.

Bad management creating a money pit? Fireproof it.

And I realized this is my obsession:

Helping New Yorkers and Long Island families build “Financially Fireproof” lives - in real estate, money, and mindset.
